2018 Kinney Natatorium Open Meet Timeline - BEFORE Scratches (when available)

The tentative timeline may change after scratches have been made and the meet is seeded, but it will give you a pretty good idea of how long the meet will run.

A bus will NOT be transporting swimmers to and from this event. Families may drive to Bucknell University on their own OR meet at Bishop McDevitt High School at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning. If you would be willing to assist in providing a ride to and from this event, please sign-up on the team's timetosignup site HERE

Travel time from Bishop McDevitt High School to Bucknell University is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. It is very important that ALL McDevitt swimmers arrive at Sojka Pavilion no later than 9:20 a.m. We will need ALL athletes to enter the pool deck at the same time at 9:30 a.m. in order to claim space for approximately 15 McDevitt swimmers attending this meet. Please do not assume the attitude that "my teammates will arrive early to save me a spot". We will enter the pool deck AS A TEAM at 9:30 a.m.

COACHES' MEETINGS
A coaches' meetings will be held at 10:30am
Swim Coaches - Kinney Classroom (located by the diving boards)
Diving Coaches - Bucknell Swim Team Varsity Locker Room

TEAM CAPTAINS MEETING
11:45am On the pool deck outside the Kinney Control Room (Shallow end of pool)

SOJKA BOX OFFICE
10:00am Opens for spectators to purchase tickets.

POOL DECK & BLEACHERS
This is a very large meet with 515 athletes competing. The deck will be crowded. Please put personal bags under the bleachers so athletes can sit on the bleachers during the meet. The only people permitted in the area between the hot tub and the 1 meter diving boards are the divers - no swimmers or teams. There are 51 divers in the meet and this space is reserved for them.

EVACUATOR
The evacuator is located on the wall behind the diving boards and is used to ventilate the natatorium. Please inform your teams that they can not block the air flow by leaning up against this wall or putting their personal bags in front of the vents.

BACKUP TIMERS
We need to provide one backup timer per lane. If you have anyone on your team (manager, swimmers, assist coaches, parents) let me know.

ENTRANCE TO FACILITY
Please use the front entrance to Sojka Pavilion (not the main entrance to the Athletic Building) to access the pool on Saturday.
Doors will open at 9:30am.

PARKING
School buses must park at the Faculty Court Lot. Team vans can park in the Upper Smith Lot (corner of 7th Street & Moore Ave)

ACCESS TO POOL DECK
We will open the doors to the pool deck at 9:40am. Swimmers can enter the water at 10:00am.

SOJKA LOBBY & HALLWAYS
Teams can not sit on the floor of Sojka Lobby or the hallways on the first floor of the building.
Please keep your athletes on the pool deck.

FOOD
The concession stand will be open for sales. Teams can purchase food there but we do NOT permit food on the pool deck.
All food must be eaten up on the concourse.

Eligibility: Open to members of PIAA schools.

Entry Limitations: The meet will cap out at 475 athletes. Once this number of entries has been reached, the meet will be closed. It is recommended that you submit your entry & payment as early as possible to ensure that your team will be guaranteed a spot in the meet. Entry times can be updated up until the deadline. Swimmers are limited in competition to no more than four (4) events per PIAA rules: (2 individual events + 2 relays, or 1 individual event + 3 relays). Each school may enter any number of athletes per event as long as they don’t exceed the 4 event limit per athlete. Relays are limited to one per team. All events are timed finals.

Schedule:
Swimming: Warm ups: 10:00 ‐ 11:45 a.m. Competition: 12:00 p.m.

Diving: Warm ups: 10:00 ‐ 11:45 a.m. Competition: 12:00 p.m.

Rules: Current PIAA Rules & Regulations shall govern the meet.

Scoring: Individual: 9‐7‐6‐5‐4‐3‐2‐1
Relay: 18‐14‐12‐8‐6‐4‐2

Entries & Qualifying Times: All competitors must have made the individual qualifying standards sometime during the 2017‐2018 season or the 2018‐2019 season.
